JetBlue Foundation Sponsors STEM Program, Earth to Mars

Thanks to JetBlue Foundation, over 80 students from the Challenger Learning Center at the Columbia Memorial Space Center in Downey, CA transformed into engineers responsible for launching a simulated Space Launch System rocket and designing a 3D Mars habitat. In the program, students worked on their problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills while experiencing science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) concepts in the context of a real-world challenge.

The Earth to Mars program with local Downey students was a success! 78% of students felt the experience improved their teamwork skills and 69% said they have a new awareness of STEM careers!
