Celebrating 35 Years of Challenger Center

Since our founding in April 1986, Challenger Center has carried on the memory and mission of the original Challenger crew with immersive learning experiences that have reached over 5.5 million students. From the lower east side of Manhattan to the rural mountains of Kentucky and beyond, thousands of our alumni are now STEM professionals.

For 35 years, our goal has been to help students engaging in STEM subjects transform their mindsight from “Can I?” to “I can!”. Every day across the country, students of all backgrounds embark on our missions to the surface of Mars, the depths of the ocean, or the peaks of the Great Smoky Mountains.

After they complete one of our experiences, they walk away with newfound confidence and new ideas about who they can be if they stay engaged in STEM.

As we look ahead to the next 35 years, we know we must expand our commitment to delivering transformative educational experiences to even more students. Today’s students are tomorrow’s innovators, and our goal is to prepare them for all the future has in store.

Join us in reflecting upon 35 years of impact and empower every student to see a future in STEM by donating today. Now through April 30th, thanks to our newest Board Member Diane Flynn and her husband Rick Flynn, we have an incredible opportunity to raise $35,000 in honor of our 35th anniversary. Diane and Rick will be matching every donation dollar for dollar up to $17,500. This means your donation will go twice as far!
