Four International Girls Experienced Destination Mars! Summer Camp

During July 23 – 27, 2018, our Challenger Learning Center of Colorado in Colorado Springs hosted four international students from the Republic of Kazakhstan and from Afghanistan at its girls summer STEM camp, Destination Mars! Through a partnership with Challenger Center and funding from the U.S. Mission to International Organizations in Vienna, the four high school-aged girls participated in hands-on STEM activities that focused on teamwork and communication, such as designing, building, and programming futuristic Mars rovers using LEGO EV3 Mindstorms robot kits. The international student’s participation was managed by American Councils for International Education.
